It’s All About ME! Marketing to the Generations!
For those of you who attended the fall conference, you are sure to have a better understanding of your customers and employees and how to develop strategies to attract and retain both.

The morning started off with a bang! Jason Dias, Trainer-Historian-Consultant for Marquis, informed and inspired us. Jason blended history, music and humor to captivate our attention and teach us all a few things about the multi-generational marketplace we all live and work in. How many of us knew who sings “Grillz”? Can you name the artist?

The day ended with a fascinating look at bridging the gap between the Baby Boomer generation and Generation X. Clint Swindall, President & CEO of Verbalocity, taught us to look beyond our own perspectives and understand what happened to each generation to make it unique. Some takeaways on how to market to Generation X are:

  • Focus first on technology. Second on relationship.
  • Market the experience, not the product.
  • Focus on what’s in it for them, not on your bank’s history.
  • Use humor.
  • Tell them the truth.

And, in between were two terrific breakout sessions, including a live focus group and an awesome lunch (how about that dessert!). Add to that the opportunity to network with fellow bank marketers, exhibitors and industry experts, and it couldn’t have been any better.
