The Sky is Falling. Managing Through Crisis.
More than 130 members of the ABA Marketing Network braved the cold weather and enjoyed a terrific conference in Plymouth, MA in January. In addition to the wonderful speakers and educational breakout sessions, members enjoyed the opportunity to network with peers, industry experts and exhibitors.
Highlights included:
The TJX breach couldn’t have happened at a better time (if anytime could be seen as “good” for such a debacle!). Several of our speakers incorporated the breach into their presentations, including Anne Murphy and Andrew Paven of O’Neill and Associates, and Greg Stone of Stone Communications (filling in for an ailing Suzanne Bates). The always-informative Jack Hubbard (St. Meyer & Hubbard Inc.) provided a supercharged session about Business Banking Performance Cultures.
Hearing a first-hand account of being underwater in Hurricane Katrina was a real eye-opener for many of us. Tammy Gennusa of Parish National Bank chilled us with her account of implementing their disaster recovery plan; the unexpected issues they faced and the way their people rose to the challenge. I don’t think anyone left that session unmoved.
